Always enjoying Super Mario Brothers

So I just got several Virtual Console games for Nintendo Wii. They are all part of the Super Mario series, and here's my comments:

- Super Mario Brothers : Awesome

Playing Super Mario Brothers is always fun, and with the Wii controller, the experience is still engaging. And it seems like Nintendo spent sometime to emulate even the detail of the game. One thing I enjoyed a lot was that the "infinite" 1-up trick at World 3-1 is still working, although you have to be careful because if you got they much the remaining player value will roll to negative and you got a sudden death. I didn't dare to figure out what was the right among since I knew I already got plenty of player after a while. I also realize that the emulator seems to even emulate the NTSC blur effect. I didn't see that exact same effect in a PC NES emulator. So obivous Nintendo go extra mile to make this Virtual Conosle a realistic experience.

One huge plus for me: Wii keeps track of the save game down to the fact taht it SAVE the STATE of the game play. So if in the middle of the game you suddenly realize that you have something else to do, no problem, just go back to the Wii manual and the state of your game will be saved. The next time you come back, you will continue at the spot where you left off. Very neat indeed.

- Super Mario World : Too bad I don't have the classic controller
I have one huge problem with Super Mario World: it does not work with Wiimote and with my wireless GameCube controller the button mapping was not optimized for the game play. So I either have to get a Classic Controller, stuck with the awkward setting, or not playing it. I choose not playing it.

- Mario 64
With the GameCube controller, the Mario 64 playing experience was awesome. Period.

Now my bigget problem is to discipline myself: do work and study first before playing a few more game.... do work and study more before playing a few more games.......
